# X8 DMA

Setup guide for X8 DMA on Gears Of War E-Day.

**Start the game before the loader.** Gears Of War E-Day has to already be running on your main PC when you open the loader on your second PC.

### Before you start

Your DMA card needs to be installed in your main PC and its drivers set up on your second PC. If you have not done that yet, work through the [DMA Card](/dma-hardware-guides/dma-card.md) guides first.

### Create Your Account

Go to [x8dma.com](https://x8dma.com/) and create an account with the email you want tied to your license, then sign in.

### Redeem Your Key

On your dashboard, paste your license key into the **Redeem Key** box and submit it. Your key is on your [purchases page](/getting-started/accessing-your-key.md).

The loader is tied to your account, so redeem the key before you go any further.

### Download the Loader

On your SECOND PC, sign in at [x8dma.com](https://x8dma.com/), open the **Loader** page and click the x8 icon to download `x8 Universal.exe`.

Put the loader in its own folder. The next step adds files next to it.

### Download the Map Files

On your dashboard, find your **E-Day** license and click the **maps.rar** download. It is the `EDay-Maps.rar` file. Extract it with WinRAR or 7-Zip and put the extracted **Maps** folder beside `x8 Universal.exe`.

Each game has its own map files, so use the ones from your E-Day license. They are what Ray Trace Vischeck reads, and without them visibility checks stay off.

### Open Gears Of War E-Day on your main PC

Launch the game on your main PC and leave it running. Do this first, before you open the loader.

### Run the Loader

With the game already open, right-click `x8 Universal.exe` on your second PC, select **Run as administrator**, sign in with the account you created if it asks, then select **Gears Of War E-Day**.
